Doctor’s medical negligence leads to toddler’s death

Vijay Kumar Tiwari, 40 years old doctor arrested by the Delhi Police for allegedly prescribing wrong medicine to a one and half-year-old girl which leads to her death in southwest Delhi Kapashera area.

FIR has been lodged at Kapashera police station against accused Vijay Kumar Tiwari under IPC Sections 304-a (causing death by negligence), 420 (cheating) and Section 27 of the Delhi Medical Council Act by the girl’s parents. The child was taken to his clinic to get treatment for the high fever she was suffering from. Police official said, Tiwari examined her and gave her some medicines. After taking medicines, the girl died soon and parents alleged that Tiwari gave her wrong medicines.

Family members staged a protest against the doctor and Police waiting for the post-mortem report from the FSL to ascertain the exact cause of death. During the investigation, Police officials also shared Tiwari’s documents with the Delhi Medical Council (DMC), where it is found that he is not registered with them.
