Bhaktinagar police recovers 7440 intoxicant pills from drug store, shop owner arrested

Siliguri : In a significant breakthrough, the Bhaktinagar undercover cops busted an illegal business of intoxicant pills under the guise of a pharmacy following the arrest of the shop owner. The accused has been identified as Chanchal Tiwari.

According to the reports, the accused owned a pharmacy, namely, Kamla Medical Hall, located in the Limbu Basti of the Prakash Nagar neighborhood under ward no. 43. Acting on a tip-off, the undercover cops of the Bhakti Nagar police station arrived at the pharmacy last night disguised as a customer and exposed the drug trade. Additionally, 7440 different kinds of medication tablets were recovered by the authorities.

The accused owner was subsequently detained under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act for dealing with intoxicated drugs while operating a drug store. Following this, the accused was produced before the Jalpaiguri court. Meanwhile, the police are looking into everything.
