BSF Seizes Phensedyl And Buprenorphine Injs Taking Major Actions

Nadia and North 24 Parganas : The Border Security Force (BSF) has yet again successfully intercepted smuggling activities on the India-Bangladesh border, seizing a huge consignment of Phensedyl and Ganja in multiple incidents.

On April 18, 2023, troops of Border Outpost Rangiyapota, 82 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, recovered four gunny bags from their area of responsibility during a special search operation in the middle of the night. The bags were being smuggled from India to Bangladesh and upon opening them, 286 bottles of Phensedyl and 1500 Buprenorphine injections were found.

In another incident on the same day, troops of Border Outpost Sutia, 107 Battalion seized 20 kg of Ganja during a special operation at 0200 hrs. However, the smugglers managed to escape in the thick darkness.

Additionally, troops of Border Outposts Dobarpara and Tentulberia, Adhoc SB III Battalion seized 523 bottles of Phensedyl from their area of responsibility. A total of 809 Phensedyl bottles with an estimated value of Rs.1,66,096/- were seized in all the incidents.

All the seized goods were handed over to the concerned agencies for further legal action.

The Public Relation Officer of BSF, South Bengal Frontier, stated that the BSF jawans on the border have always been vigilant in carrying out their duty and are committed to preventing any untoward incident on the border.

These successful interceptions demonstrate the BSF’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the integrity of the border and stopping illegal activities. The BSF continues to remain vigilant and prepared to tackle any such incidents in the future.
