DCA raids illegal de-addiction centre in Hanamkonda

Hyderabad:  Telangana Drugs Control Administration (DCA) conducted a raid on an unlicensed premises located at Helping Hand Society De-Addiction treatment-cum-rehabilitation center in Hanamkonda for illegally without a valid drug license, and seized stocks worth Rs.4.01 lakh

Acting on credible information regarding the illegal stocking and sale of medicines, the DCA officials raided the de-addiction rehabilitation centre and found it to be operating illegally without a valid drug license. During the raid, the officers detected unauthorized stocking of huge quantities of medicines for sale.

Around 40 varieties of medicines including antibiotics, Steroids, antihypertensive, anti-diabetic drugs etc., were found stocked for sale at the premises.

On credible information, the DCA officials raided the premises of Electro Homeo Practitioner Burla Gopal in Medak and detected two varieties of tablets in the clinic including 650 loose white-colored circular tablets stored in a transparent bottle with a silver-colored cap, and 840 loose pink-colored circular tablets stored in another transparent bottle with a silver colored cap. The tablets are purported to contain drugs such as steroids, NSAIDs, etc.

The DCA officers lifted the samples for analysis collected during the two raids and seized the stocks. Further investigation will be carried out, and action will be taken as per the law against all the offenders.
