DCGI, NPPA Hold Meeting On Covid Medicine Availability

New Delhi : Drugs Controller General of India & National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority held meeting with Pharma retail players on availability of medicines used to treat Covid.
Wholesalers and Retailers directed to keep at least 2 months stock of Paracetamol, Azithromycin, Amoxicillin, Cough Syrups and Doxycycline.
All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists has directed 9.40 lakh retailers to follow the order of keeping 2 Months stock of medicines being used to treat Covid.
Ealier in the day Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Covid Review Meeting with states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Delhi, Ladakh and Uttar Pradesh.
Health Minister urged states to focus on Tele-consultation like eSanjeevani, and efficient monitoring of those in Home Isolation.
States were also advised to Review and Expedite progress under ECRP-II to strengthen health infrastructure, ensure Full Vaccination especially in low coverage districts and ramp up testing through RTPCR.
India today reported 2,55,874 fresh Covid cases, 2,67,753 recoveries in the past 24 hours. India’s Daily positivity rate is 15.52% and Weekly Positivity Rate is 17.17%. There are 22,36,842 Active Covid cases in India.
