Director of Himachal Health Services arrested in ‘corruption case’

Dr Ajay Gupta, The Director of Himachal Pradesh Health Services, was arrested by the state Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau allegedly in a corruption case on the basis of audio recording.

The matter was referred to the additional Chief Secretary (Health) of state Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau soon after the audio recording went viral and Dr. Ajay Gupta was summoned on the basis of audio recording in which he was allegedly demanding Rs 5 lakh from some unknown persosn.

According to sources in he vigilance bureau, Gupta was not able to give any convincing reply in interrogation and he was arrested.

Gupta was arrested on Wednesday night after 4-5 hours of interrogation as he gave misleading replies. After the arrest, Gupta was admitted at IGMC being a patient of diabetes and BP according to Anurag Garg, ADGP, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
