Drugs Worth ₹17L Seized, One Arrested

Kota : Jhalawar district special team jointly with Bhawanimandi police arrested one person and recovered 750 grams of methylenedioxy methamphetamine commonly known as MD drug worth Rs 17 lakh during checking of vehicles on late Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, Jhalawar SP Monika Sen expressed concern over recovery of MD drug in the district saying ‘it is a dangerous intoxication that grips man for life even if consumed in lesser quantity’.

On the input of supply of MD drug in Bhawanimandi area by a suspect, police started keeping close watch over him for last few days and held the accused identified as Lala alias Shahid Husain (36) during checking of vehicle on Gaushala road, said Sen. The police booked the accused under section of NDPS Act, seized his bike and began further investigation into the matter.

The accused is yet to be interrogated on the source and destination of the drug, she added.
