Haryana: Quack booked under PC & PNDT Act

Palwal, Haryana: A raid was conducted upon a quack, day before yesterday by Health and Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) Haryana officers at Hasanpur district Palwal Haryana. Quack was caught red handed giving medicine to a decoy pregnant women for sex selection. An FIR was registered under PC & PNDT Act, IMC Act, IPC and Drugs Act.

A team was constituted by Dr Brahm Deep Civil Surgeon, Palwal of officers of Health department Palwal and FDA Haryana namely Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Civil Surgeon PNDT, Palwal, Dr. Purendra Chauhan, AMO, Palwal from health department Palwal and Krishan Kumar Garg, Drugs Control Officer, Palwal from FDA Haryana.
“The team raided Baghel Dawakhana, Jamuna Road, Hassanpur District Palwal and caught Vaid Babulal Baghel red handed giving ayurvedic medicines to the decoy pregnant woman Reena (name changed) for the purpose of sex selection and charged Rs. 900/- from the decoy.” told Dr. G L Singal, former State Drugs Controller cum Project coordinator, “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” CM Cell Haryana.

The currency notes were recovered from the possession of Vaid Babu Lal Baghal. Vaid Babu Lal could not produce any valid degree for medical practice in Auyurvedic or Allopathic medicines, when asked. The team lodged FIR against accused under PC & PNDT Act, IMC Act, IPC and Drugs Act.
