In Gurgaon, illegal hospital busted, quack arrested in raid

Gurgaon: A team from the chief minister’s flying squad conducted a raid at a private hospital in Fazalwas village on Tuesday. According to police, Shivansh Hospital, located on the Tauru Road, was found operating without registration and in the absence of a qualified doctor.

Upon questioning the staff, one hospital operator identified himself as Dr Tushar, a resident of Malikpur village in Jhajjar.

During inspection, officials found an operational operation theatre, a pharmacy, and five patient beds at the facility. Oxytocin injections, local anaesthesia, and other medical supplies were also recovered.

Dr Sushant Sharma, medical officer at the primary health centre in Pataudi, complained about the hospital, prompting police action. “When questioned, he introduced himself as Tushar, the owner and operator of Shivansh Hospital. However, he failed to produce any valid medical degree, licence, or documentation authorising him to practise or run a medical facility,” the complaint said.

A search of the premises revealed a functional operation theatre, five patient beds, a doctor’s room, a pharmacy, and medical equipment.
