IPA (Delhi State Branch) Announces Office Bearers for 2016-18

NEW DELHI: Dr Naresh Sharma, currently the Assistant Drugs Controller (India), Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), New Delhi has been elected as the President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA)-Delhi State Branch for the term 2016-18. Prafull D. Sheth, Past President of IPA, was the returning officer to conduct elections for the new Council.

New office bearers of IPA (Delhi State Branch) for the term 2016-18 announced. Standing (from left) are: Dr Sanjula Baboota (Council Member), Dr Mymoona Akhter (Council Member), Dr Gaurav K. Jain (Hon. Secretary), Dr Farhan Jalees Ahmad (Past President of IPA-Delhi State Branch), Dr Naresh Sharma (President Elect), Prof Roop K. Khar (Immediate Past President), Rakesh Dahiya (Council Member), Dr Rajesh Khanna (Treasurer), Dr Siddharth (Co-opt Member), Rajesh Agarwal (Council Member), Dr Neeraj Kumar (Joint Secretary), and Kalhan Bazaz (Vice-President).

Other office bearers of the newly elected council of the Delhi State Branch for the term include: Kalhan Bazaz as Vice-President, Dr Gaurav Kumar Jain as Hon. Secretary, Dr Rajesh Khanna as Treasurer and Dr Neeraj Kumar as Joint Secretary. Prof (Dr) Roop Krishen Khar, Principal, B.S. Anangpuria Institute of Pharmacy, Faridabad, Haryana became the Immediate Past President of Delhi Branch of IPA for a period of two years. The council members elected for the term 2016-18 are Ashok Sakhuja, Dr Javed Ali, Dr Mymoona Akhter, Rajesh Agarwal, Rakesh Dahiya, Dr Sanjula Baboota, Dr Saurabh Arora, and Dr Sushama Talegaonkar.

Giving his presidential remarks, Dr Naresh Sharma said, “I would like to thank each and every member of the Association for reposing trust and making me the president of IPA (Delhi State Branch). Let us build that trust and match the expectation of all the members so that membership drive, activity drive and recognition can be achieved. For this to happen, the contribution of each and every council member of the Branch is necessary.” He added, “Another responsibility that falls on our shoulders are the commitment, dedication and sparing some time for the Association in order to make the Branch a strong body.” He concluded, “I am setting three objectives for my tenure, namely, activity, membership drive and fund generation. We need to set targets and hopefully we will achieve them.”

While congratulating the new council, Dr Roop Khar, in his remarks, said, “Teamwork is important and the initiative taken should be converted and implemented in order to achieve the objectives of the Council. Translating ideas into reality and converting into outcome is not easy. It needs lots of efforts, persuasion, dedication and commitment. I hope the new council would do all that and work responsibly.” Added Dr Gaurav Jain, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, “I am extremely honoured to have been chosen by my colleagues to be the secretary of such a great Association. Our aim over the next two years will be to bring a wave of positive change within Delhi State Branch with the effort and support of all our members.”
