IT Teams Raid Pharma And Resort Unit

Solan : A team of Income Tax (IT) sleuths yesterday raided a resort near Kandaghat in Solan district and a pharmaceutical unit at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district.

The IT team raided Zee Laboratories located at Gondpur in Paonta Sahib and examined its records throughout the day. The firm has been involved in the manufacturing of substandard drugs and its products figure on the list of spurious drugs issued by the central drugs regulator every month.

Another IT team  sleuths reached the Deventure hotel and resorts around 7 am and examined its records. No one was allowed entry to the resort during the raid, which continued till late in the evening.

Both resort and pharma units have the same owners. The local police were not aware of the raids though the news spread after the IT sleuths raided the two places in the morning.

Deventure hotel and resorts located amidst sylvan pine trees on a hilltop is known for destination weddings.

It has been learnt that Zee Laboratories, which manufactures cosmetics and drugs, was granted licences in April 2005 and January 2010 for two categories of drugs. It was raided in November 2014, too. A Haryana-based investor owns the company.
