It was a ‘wow’ moment for Dr Ruby Bansal, a preventive Health crusader

New Delhi: Dr Ruby Bansal has undoubtedly made an indelible mark in promoting preventive healthcare, which is the need of the hour in India. The coveted Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Excellence Award to her jointly by WOW India and Delhi Gynecology Forum would only give a fillip to her crusade to stop illnesses in the track.  It was really a ‘wow’ moment for Dr Bansal, currently serving as Head, Preventive Health and Senior Consultant HIV/AIDS at Yashoda Superspeciality Hospital, Kaushambi.

Blending of this occasion with tribute paid to late Atal Behari Vajpayee, one of the most lovable leaders of India made it really a precious solemn affair.  The function had to be postponed in respect for Atal ji. The program on August 21 started with a short documentary on his life and his poems. Wow India, a wellness of women organisation and Delhi Gynaecology Forum have found Dr Ruby worthy of being recipient of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Excellence award because of her seminal work on preventive health and HIV/AIDS.

Dr Bansal is working tremendously in the field of preventive medicine, life style, infectious diseases and HIV/AIDS as a clinician and conducting innumerable talks at various organizations. She herself has organized various conferences and workshops on life style diseases and HIV/AIDS. She has also contributed in different journals and books. She has keen interest in school and corporate health and has been actively organising workshop for life skill, HIV/AIDS, healthy life style, prevention of diseases, stress and time management for corporate, school teachers and students. She has visited University of Illinois, USA for Observership in Infectious Diseases and HIV/AIDS. She has numerous awards to her credit.
