Burnpur Hospital invites applications for walk-in interviews for the engagement of trainees under a Proficiency Training Programme (Paramedics) from qualified paramedics in the fields of Operation Theatre, Dresser, X-Ray, ECG Technician, Pharmacist, Laboratory & Blood Bank Technician, Pulmonary Function Test Technician, Optometrist, Phlebotomist, Vaccinator, Dental Hygienist, and Dental Room Assistance/Dental Operating Room Assistance, Dialysis Technician, for a period of 18 months.

Required Qualifications: Intermediate (10+2) with Science from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. & 2(Two) Year Diploma in Pharmacy from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt. Or Graduate in Pharmacy from any university/institution recognized by the Central or State Govt.
Eligibility conditions:
a) Upper Age Limit:
General candidates – 30 years as on 01/08/2022
OBC Candidates-33 years old as on 01/08/2022
ST & SC Candidates: 35 years as on 01/08/2022
PH candidates – 45 for SC/ST, 43 for OBC, and 40 for UR
b) The Medical fitness of the candidate selected as a trainee under the instant scheme will be examined by the Medical Officer of Burnpur Hospital, SAIL-IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur and shall be allowed to join the training only if he/ she has been declared fit for the program.
The candidate selected as a trainee will be required to swear an affidavit (as per attached format) before a Notary Public stating that he/she will complete the prescribed period of training. The said affidavit will be required to be deposited at the time of appearing for the walk-in interview.
Selection Procedure: The trainees to be inducted shall be based on the performance of the candidates in the walk-in interview, subject to their fulfilling the advertised eligibility criteria.
Training Hours: The training shall be imparted for 8 hours a day and 48 hours a week.
Stipend & Other Allowances :
Stipend: Rs. 8,000/-per month for all streams and Rs. 17,980/-for the Dialysis stream. A pro-rata deduction of stipend shall be applicable for the days of absence. In addition to the stipend, the trainees shall also be eligible for the knowledge and skill enhancement allowance as below :
Rate of allowance for each day of physical presence (Rs/day of presence)
20 days or more: 260/-
15 to 19 days: 130/-
Less than 15 days: No amount may be given as allowance. Only stipend to be paid.
The maximum amount payable to the paramedic trainees, except Dialysis Technician, will be Rs 8000.00 + Rs 7020.00 = Rs.15020.00 per month.
For Dialysis Trainee the maximum amount payable will be Rs.17,980.00 + Rs 7,020.00 = Rs.25,000/- per month. Payment shall be made only through Bank. The Trainees shall not be entitled to any other payment other than what has been mentioned above.
Switch Over
During the period of training, the trainee will not be allowed to switch over to his/her allotted stream. However, change in the area of training can be considered by the company without assigning any reason whatsoever.
Facilities admissible during the period of training :
a) The trainees, shall be entitled to medical facilities (without referral) for themselves only at the company’s hospital.
b) Accommodation facility for self only may be considered as per availability on a payment basis.
c) On successful completion of the training, a Certificate of Proficiency shall be issued to the trainees by the SAIL-IISCO Steel Plant Hospital.
Leave facilities during the period of training: The trainees shall be entitled to 7 days of casual leave and a closed holiday (or compensatory off thereof) on national holidays.
Conduct and Discipline during the period of training :
a) The Proficiency Training Programme (Intern Paramedic) is purely temporary for a period of 18 months. The training can be terminated without notice if the Conduct / Performance is not found to be satisfactory.
b) The selected trainee shall execute an Affidavit on a Judicial Stamp Paper of Rs.10/- (as per the format annexed) to serve the IISCO Steel Plant Hospital strictly as a Vocational trainee and will not claim for employment in the IISCO Steel Plant Hospital, Burnpur or in any Plant / Unit of SAIL on this ground, nor will the trainee raise any dispute in this respect. The trainee shall also declare that he/she will complete the training period.
c) The trainee shall follow the norms of Safety, Discipline, Conduct, and Professional Ethics and also carry out the lawful orders of the Medical Administration issued from time to time. The trainee shall obey all such orders and directions as received from the superiors.
