Raid At All Well Medicare Chandigarh, Recovered Habit-Forming Drugs

Chandigarh: In accordance with the directives of the Adviser to the Administrator and the Health Secretary, the Drugs Inspectors, conducted a raid on January 15, 2024, at M/s All Well Medicare, Sector 41, Badheri, Chandigarh.

The search at the premises uncovered eight types of Habit-forming Drugs, including 1266 tablets/capsules of Tramadol, Tepantadol, Alprazolam, and 10 Codeine cough syrups (along with empty bottles) with an approximate market value of Rs. 20,000/-. It was noted that the firm lacked proper record-keeping of purchase and sale, and the mandatory Schedule H1 register was absent. Additionally, a qualified person/pharmacist was found absent during the inspection, and sales were conducted without supervision.

The seized drugs were presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Chandigarh.

A show-cause notice addressing the discrepancies and violations of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act, 1940, is being served to M/s All Well Medicare by the Drugs Controller-cum-Licensing Authority. This enforcement activity will persist in the future, and all parties concerned are cautioned against engaging in unethical sale, stock, or supply of drugs liable to be misused. Strict actions will be taken against violators of the Drugs and Cosmetic Act/Rules.
