Stock Of LEVITRADEL 500 Mg Tab Printed MRP In Violation Of DPCO, Seized

Hayathnagar: Today under the supervision of Smt. Anjum Abida, Asst. Director, RR Dist. I, Raju Laxmalla, DI Hayath nagar, along with  J. Naga Raju DI, Saroor nagar, seized  55 x 10  Tablets of  LEVITRADEL  500 mg  (Levetiracetam Tablets ),  B:No: DRT21023, M/d: 10/2023 ,  E/D :  09/2025, Mfd.by: M/s. Suraksha Pharma pvt Ltd, 410, Karondi, Roorkee – 247667, for the violation of  Para 14(1) & (2) of DPCO 2013 r/w 1574(E) dated 31.03.2023 at Pragma Pharmacy , Vanasthali puram, Hayath nagar mandal and RR Dist.

Prices of 476 formulations were revised vide SO 1574(E) dtd 31.3.2023 with respect to WPI @12.1218%. Ceiling Price of Levetiracetam was originally fixed vide SO 89(E) dtd 6.1.2023 and revised vide order dated 31.3.2023.

Levetiracetam Tablets 500 mg of this manufacturer is found printed with MRP on label: Rs. 200/- for 10 Tablets,

While the Ceiling price fixed for this formulation is including WPI : Rs 12.98  per 1 Tablet

Ceiling price + GST(12%) is worked out to be Rs 14.54 per 1 Tablet.

As per DCOs, The formulation is printed with Excess MRP : Rs. 5.46/- per  1 Tablet. Therefore, for  10 Tablets is charged an excess of Rs  54.6/- * i.e., 37.5 % Excess MRP* .

The seizure will be intimated to Hon’ble court tomorrow.
