Student Dies After Getting Vaccinated In School

Kanpur: In a private school in Rawatpur, Kanpur, the condition of a 9-year-old student deteriorated after the diphtheria vaccination. Later, he died during treatment. The family members said – Our child was fine. He died after the vaccination. He was killed. The family members have filed a complaint against the school management in Rawatpur police station.

Rajesh Soni who lives in Har Milaap Society Keshavpur located in Rawatpur village drives an e-rickshaw. Rajesh said that the family consisted of his wife Savitri, 9 year old son Ansh and two daughters Anshika and Avantika. Son Ansh was a class 5 student in PRK Mission School of Rawatpur village.

On September 27, the student was vaccinated against diphtheria (whooping cough) in school. During this, he was vaccinated in his left hand. It is alleged that after this, his hand was turning blue. On August 1, the student’s condition deteriorated, and he was admitted to Hallet. Where he died on Wednesday during treatment.

The family members have filed a complaint in Rawatpur police station alleging that the child died due to vaccination. Regarding this matter, the school manager Kunwar Pal Singh said that the health department had done the vaccination under the campaign being run by the government. After which no other child has faced any problem till now.

UV Singh, the vaccination officer of the health department, said that there is no report of any other child’s condition deteriorating due to vaccination. At present, the matter will be investigated.

Rawatpur police station in-charge Krishna Kumar Mishra said that since the cause of death was not clear in the postmortem, the viscera has been preserved. The cause of death will be clear only after the report arrives.
