The Best Healthcare Model Sir Ganga Ram harnessed for National Healthcare Excellence

New Delhi, India, September 13, 2023 : It is great news indeed that the national ideal for best healthcare model Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) has been entrusted to bring excellence in public healthcare of India by central government. We can look forward to transformative change in public health. SRGH has inked alliance with National Health Systems Resource centre (NHSRC) under Union Health Ministry to that end. It speaks a volume about commitment of both towards health of society.

The MoU was inked by Dr. Satendra Katoch, Director Medical, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, and Brig Sanjay Baweja, Principal Administrative Officer of NHSRC, in the presence of the chairman BOM of SGRH Dr Prof. Ajay Swaroop and Maj Gen (Prof) Dr Atul Kotwal, Executive Director, National Health Systems Resource Centre, marking a pivotal moment in the healthcare landscape of India. This alliance was formally established through the signing of a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 31, 2023.

The MoU signifies a two-year commitment from both institutions to further the cause of Universal Health Coverage and Sustainable Development Goals, supporting the government’s relentless efforts to fortify the nation’s public healthcare by strengthening health systems and implementing evidence-based policy interventions through joint research efforts and knowledge sharing.

This MoU opens door for crucial research in Adolescent health and specifically focusing on the impact of sleep deprivation on cognitive development, reflecting the organizations’ commitment to address contemporary healthcare challenges.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital (SGRH) and the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC) are set to foster a robust culture of educational and scientific collaboration as part of their partnership. This collaboration will harness their collective expertise to elevate healthcare standards. They will jointly undertake research ventures, organize seminars, and provide knowledge partnerships to drive scientific advancements in healthcare. Additionally, both organizations will facilitate the exchange of publications, reports, and academic resources to enrich their collective knowledge base. Furthermore, faculty and students from SGRH and NHSRC will collaborate on mutual research endeavours, and other areas of mutual interest fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas and expertise.

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, known for its healthcare expertise, boasts experts actively engaged in various expert committees with NHSRC. They have made significant contributions to the conceptualization and development of pivotal healthcare frameworks and guidelines. Notable achievements include the Patient Safety Checklist, IPHS guidelines, Sickle Cell Operational Guidelines, and more.

The hospital’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of public health facilities is exemplified through its NQAS Assessors, including Dr (Prof.) Jyoti, Dr. Sabina, Dr. Ruby, and Dr. Shalini, Dr. Anupam Sachdeva and Dr. Manish Malik are esteemed members of the Sickle Cell Disease Training Module Committee and the National Oversight Committee for PMNDP, respectively. Additionally, Dr. Latika Bhalla collaborates closely with NHSRC for the evaluation of the Rastriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) program.
