Vadodara: Vadodara city SOG has seized a large quantity of cough syrup after dumping it at the intoxicating cough godown near Bajwa Gate of the city. In this action, action is being taken along with the officials of Food and Drug Administration. In which a total of 367 Cartoons, the price of which has been estimated at 66 lakh rupees.
In this regard SOG PI VS. Patel said codeine syrup was seized from a godown in Bajwa Vista last night. Which is given by the doctor in the case of common Cough. It is also sometimes used for intoxication. The goods in question have been seized from this godown and Rajeshkumar Jayantilal Patel is wanted. It is a type of drug and if taken in excess, it becomes addictive. In this regard, samples have been taken at the spot along with the FDA and FSL officials and the samples have been sent for testing.
Godown No. 6 of Maheshwari Bhavan near Bajwa Gate in Jawaharnagar Police Station area of Vadodara city has been raided by the SOG team. Officials of the Food and Drug Administration also joined the action in this raid. According to preliminary details, a quantity of 367 Cartoons has been recovered from here. It has been revealed that the quantity of 100 ml of cough syrup is a total of 44,040 bottles. In this regard, the Food and Drug Administration is working with the SOG team. The godown has been sealed in this proceeding. In which a total of Rs 66,06,000 has been confiscated.
The action taken by Vadodara city SOG revealed that the original godown owner was Mahesh Kishanlal Shah. This godown was rented by Rajeshkumar Jayantilal Patel (resident of Krishna Residency, Laxmipura Road, Gotri). At present, the police are investigating the matter and have set the wheels in motion to nab the accused.
It is worth mentioning that, earlier, drugs were seized on a large scale from Vadodara city. A major action has been taken by the city SOG to prevent the syrup scandal from happening once again and no one’s life is lost. Proceedings are currently going on in this entire matter.
