AROUND 5 KG DRUG SEIZED AT CHENNAI AIRPORT

Chennai – Air customs seized 4.5kg ketamine worth more than 10 lakh from a passenger who was about to board a Malaysia Airlines flight to Kuala Lumpur at Chennai airport. Police said, Shajahan, 57, from Mannadi, had concealed the drug inside packets of pappad. The contraband was handed over to Narcotics Control Bureau. Sources said the siezure was made following a tip. The passenger had checked in and appeared nervous when questioned. A baggage check revealed that he had concealed Ketamine. The drug is popular in south East Asia.
