1680 Onerex Cough Syrup Bottles Loaded In A Luxury Car Seized, One Arrested

Satna: Amarpatan police station has seized a huge consignment of intoxicating cough syrup on Katni-Bela National Highway. Police have also arrested a youth after seizing cough syrup and a car worth more than three lakh rupees. While the driver fled from the spot.

According to the information, the Amarpatan police station of Maihar district chased an Innova car on the Katni-Bela National Highway and confiscated 1680 Bottles of the narcotic cough syrup Onerex worth more than Rs 3 lakh 2 thousand. One of the two people carrying the consignment of drugs in the car, Rajneesh Kushwaha S/o late Ramkhelavan Kushwaha (26) resident of Bhainsraha police station Rampur Naikin district Sidhi has been arrested. His companion and car driver Ramesh Jaiswal S/o Bhura Jaiswal resident of Khara police station Rampur Naikin district Sidhi escaped.

Police said that through an informer, information was received that a consignment of narcotic cough syrup was being taken towards Rewa in an Innova car. When Amarpatan police reached the National Highway, an Innova car was seen going from Maihar to Rewa at a high speed. When the police started chasing it, the driver increased the speed of the car and started taking the car towards Kathha. In the meantime, both the front tires of the car bursted. Police overtook and stopped the car but in the meantime the driver Ramesh Jaiswal ran away. When the police searched the car, 14 cartons packed in sacks were kept in it. Each of which contained 120 bottles of narcotic cough syrup. Police seized 1680 bottles of cough syrup and the car.

Amarpatan TI KP Tripathi said that the arrested accused Rajneesh Kushwaha is being questioned and the absconding driver is being searched. In this case, a case has been registered under Section 8,20, 21, 22 of the NDPS Act and Section 5/13 of the MP Drug Control Act.
