4,500 Phensedyl Bottles Found In Vaidya Bati, Six Arrested

Hooghly : On Sunday, four and a half thousand bottles of banned cough syrup Phensedyl were found in a house in Vaidya Bati area of ​​Hooghly district, causing a stir in the area.

On Monday, an official of Shrirampur police station said that the intelligence department of Chandannagar Police Commissionerate had received reliable information that bottles of banned cough syrup were kept in sacks in the house of a person named Ramesh Costa of Bagher Bagan area of ​​Ward No. 4 of Baidyabati Municipality.

By conducting a raid on Sunday night, the police recovered 17 gunny bags containing 4500 Phensedyl bottles from Ramesh Kosta’s under-construction house. Police had arrested six people in this case till the writing of the news.

Police’s primary estimate is that the banned cough syrup is supplied from this house of Vaidya Bati in different parts of the state and district. Police were trying to get to the bottom of the matter by interrogating the accused.
