Dr Azad Moopen becomes Physician Extraordinaire, joins Royal League

New Delhi/ Dubai, UAE:  As he presides over the vast empire of Aster DM Healthcare, a behemoth hospital group spanning across India &UAE, he is already a Monarch of sorts. But the one feather in his cap that he has received now is the most coveted one for a physician by training.

FounderChairman & Managing Director of Aster DM Healthcare, Dr. Azad Moopen, has been awarded with Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), UK. The prestigious accolade is presented to a select number of physicians across the world who has displayed a significant contribution to the medical and healthcare profession.

For Dr. Moopen, the accolade is in recognition of his valuable contribution and efforts to shape the healthcare service industry in GCC & India and over three decades of commitment towards making quality healthcare affordable and accessible for people across geographies.

Dr. Moopen was elected as a Fellow by the RCP following a stringent review of his achievements, as well as endorsement from local and international colleagues, establishing him as an exceptional healthcare leader.

Dr. Moopen who did his MBBS & MD from the Calicut Medical College with a gold medal in Medicine further studied at Delhi University for Diploma in Chest Diseases. He then taught for 5 years as a lecturer in Internal Medicine at Calicut Medical College. Apart from spearheading the establishment of Aster DM Healthcare which is spread over 9 countries with over 3000 doctors, Dr. Moopen has also established a Medical College in India with an intake of 150 MBBS students a year.

Founded in 1518 by a Royal Charter from King Henry VIII, the Royal College of Physicians of London is the oldest medical establishment in England. It continues to play a pivotal role in raising standards and shaping public health today. The RCP is an independent; patient centred and clinically led organization that drives improvement in the diagnosis of disease, the care of individual patients and the health of the world’s population.
