Police-Narcotics Raided Drug Market, Defense Supply Medicines Recovered

Agra: After the case of defense supply medicines being sold in the open market in Agra’s drug market came to light, the police and Anti Narcotics Task Force raided the drug market located in Fabbara market on Tuesday.

Two days ago, the Anti Narcotics Task Force of Agra Police had shared inputs in this regard. Two people were held on Monday also. When the team reached the market on Tuesday, there was panic. Seeing the team, the shutters of the shops fell down.

Many people are associated with the racket of supply of defense medicines in the market. During investigation, the police came to know that a youth resident of Nai Basti in Kotwali police station area was involved in this chain. He also has many warehouses and shops in the medicine market. One brother of the young man lives in Mumbai. Many relatives are also involved in this work.

Relatives associated with work do the work of eradicating not for sale of defense medicines and selling them in the market. The police had held two people on Monday to arrest the youth. After interrogating him, on Tuesday Hariparvat police station and Anti Narcotics Task Force reached the market in three vehicles at 2 pm.

The team remained in the medicine market for an hour. The team searched several markets located in the market. The team has picked up a dozen people from the market for questioning. The team raided several medicine shops in Jhulelal Complex, Panni Gali, Mubarak Mahal, Sindh-Punjab Market.

People in the market, on the condition of anonymity, said that the police seized several cartons of medicines from different shops. Many youths working there were also caught and taken away. The Anti Narcotics Task Force received the information behind the action taken on Tuesday. STF had earlier informed the Anti Narcotics Task Force about the sale of defense supply medicines.

Anti Narcotics Task Force had caught factories manufacturing fake drugs in Shastripuram and Bichpuri six months ago. In this case, six people including the factory owner were arrested and sent to jail. At that time, the task force had collected information about those selling these medicines in the market.

After the action, people involved in the fake-drug trade had gone underground. As soon as the matter cooled down, traders became active again. The task force has these suspects on its radar.
