NCB Seizes Large Quantity Of Narcotics, 4 Arrested

JAMMU: In a significant crackdown, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Jammu Zonal Unit has seized a large quantity of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in two separate operations. The seizures have led to the arrest of four individuals.

Acting on specific intelligence, NCB officials intercepted two accused near Zamindara Dhaba, Ring Road, Samba. The raid resulted in the recovery of 3,000 tablets of Alprazolam, 14,106 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon Plus (Tramadol), 221 bottles of Codeine-based cough syrup (100 ml each), and approximately 5 litres of Codeine-based cough syrup concealed in water bottles.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Abbas Bhat, a resident of Noorpora (Pulwama), and Zahoor Ahmad Shah from Takeya (Ghulab Bagh, Pulwama). Further investigation led to the arrest of Sareed Ahmad Ganie, the intended recipient of the drugs, from Anantnag.

In a separate operation at Lakhanpur, the NCB seized 25 bottles of Codeine-based cough syrup (100 ml each) and 5,760 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon (Tramadol). The consignment was meant for Asif Ishtiyaq of Tantrypora (Srinagar), who has since been arrested.
