Absconding Accused In Banned Nitrazepam Tablets And Codeine-Containing Cough Syrup Case Arrested

Anuppur:  Kotwali police arrested the absconding prime accused Daroga alias Komal Prasad Rathore on Sunday morning in the case of banned Nitrazepam tablets and codeine-containing cough syrup.

The Superintendent of Police has ordered the expulsion of Daroga Rathore, who is accused of continuous illegal drug trade in the district.

Kotwali Inspector Arvind Jain said that on getting information on Sunday morning, under the leadership of Inspector Kotwali Arvind Jain, Sub Inspector Praveen Sahu, Head Constable Sheikh Rasheed, Mahendra Rathore and Constable Prakash Tiwari arrested the absconding main accused 31 year old Daroga alias Komal Prasad Rathore son of Shyamlal Rathore resident of village Barin Anuppur from Rajendragram in the case of banned Nitrazepam tablet used for intoxication.

On interrogation, accused Daroga Rathore told that he had left Anuppur with the intention of fleeing to Gujarat via Jabalpur, and the police arrested him in Rajendragram.

On investigation, Kotwali police found that Daroga Rathore used to buy and sell banned medicine tablet Nitrazepam used for intoxication from Umashankar Pandey resident of village Bijaudi Anuppur. On which 55 year old Umashankar Pandey, father of late Ramadhar Pandey, resident of village Bijaudi Anuppur has also been arrested. It may be noted that Inspector alias Komal Prasad Rathore already has a criminal record for smuggling and selling illicit liquor and drugs.

Earlier, on 25th October, during a raid at the house of Inspector Rathore, 1840 tablets of banned Nitrazepam worth Rs. 18,000 were seized from the possession of his father Shyam Lal Rathore and a case was registered under sections 8,21, 22 of NDPS Act and 5/13 of MP Drug Control Act and he was arrested.

During the action taken by Kotwali police against criminals involved in smuggling and illegal trade of codeine-containing cough syrup

On October 23, 271 pieces of illegal narcotic substance codeine-containing cough syrup worth Rs 108400 being smuggled in a car from Satna district were seized and two accused were arrested and sent to jail. During this, the main accused Komal alias Inspector Rathore, resident of village Barin and Ravi Shankar Pandey, resident of Anuppur, fled.
