Drug Smuggler Arrested With 12500 Narcotic Tablets In Suratgarh

Suratgarh:  In a joint operation, Suratgarh City Police Station and SOG team arrested a smuggler with 12,500 narcotic tablets of Tramadol Hydrochloride Salt near Tiddi Mandal Office on Suratgarh-Bikaner Highway. This is the fifth consecutive major operation of the City Police in which a drug smuggler has been arrested.

City CI Dinesh Saran, while revealing the case on Wednesday evening, said that the police received information that a young man was going to supply a consignment of narcotic pills in the city.

On the information, the team of sub-inspector Sampat Ram Dhayal, head constable Durgadat, constable Vedprakash, Suresh Kumar, Surendra Kumar and Sanjeev Kumar of the police station blocked the Suratgarh-Bikaner National Highway near the Locust Mandal office. During this barricading, a young man was seen coming on a bike from Bikaner. When the police tried to stop him, he tried to run away, but the team surrounded him and caught him. On searching, banned narcotic pills of tramadol hydrochloride salt were recovered from the youth.

During interrogation, the youth revealed his name as Narsiram son of Hetram Bishnoi, resident of Ward No. 7, Godu, Thana Bajju, District Bikaner. Police arrested the accused under the NDPS Act. Investigation of the case has been handed over to Sadar CI Krishna Kumar. The CI said that SOG constables Sukhdeep Singh Khosa and Bhanupratap played an important role in this operation.

CI Dinesh Saran said that the drug menace is increasing in the city and the police has formed special teams to stop it. During interrogation, the accused told that he had bought these drugs from Rakesh, son of Jaggaram, a resident of Untwalia, Nagaur.
