Drug Licenses Of Medical Stores In Villages Without Hospitals Will Be Cancelled

Sri Ganganagar:  The administration is working on a new plan to stop the effects of medical and synthetic drugs in Sri Ganganagar district. Now all the de-addiction centres will check the patients who were given treatment in the last two years. An attempt will be made to know how many percent of patients have been freed from addiction by the treatment given by which de-addiction centres.

Actually, one of its objectives is to bring out the information about the treatment being given in de-addiction centres to get rid of addiction. For this, two types of investigations have been proposed. First, all SDMs will get the investigation done by a committee formed at their level to find out what medicines the doctors are giving to the patients in the de-addiction centres operating in their area.

The treatment being given to the patients will be verified by a committee of government doctors and DCOs so that it can be ascertained whether the patients are being given other types of medicated drugs to quit addiction. Secondly, it will be known whether the de-addiction centre is actually working on de-addiction or not? Action will also be taken against the centres on the basis of the percentage of patients getting rid of addiction.

In the meeting, SP Yadav said that the proposal to build new police stations or posts on Bharat Mala road in the international border area is under consideration with the government. Along with this, the proposal to install CCTV cameras on the main roads from the border to Bharat Mala Road is also going to be approved. This will help in controlling drug smuggling in the border area. ADM Vigilance Narendrapal Singh, trainee IAS Rajat Yadav, DEO Shiva Chaudhary, BI Zone in-charge Diksha Kamra, officials of intelligence agencies were also present in the meeting.

SP Gaurav Yadav says that Pakistan-backed drug terrorism is a challenge in the district, along with this, the drugs supplied from other districts and other states are also no less a challenge. The district police and BSF have made a lot of efforts together to stop drone activities on the border of the district. But smuggling of intoxicant pills and syrup from Baddi in Himachal Pradesh, opium from Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh, opium from Chittorgarh and Kota, poppy husk from Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Barmer is also a big challenge. Supply of heroin from Tarn Taran, Amritsar, Firozpur, Fazilka districts of Punjab is also a part of this.

On Wednesday, a meeting of the district level standing committee of the Narco Coordination Center was held. In this, District Collector Dr. Manju told the Drug Control Department that the licenses of medical stores should be canceled in those villages where there are no government and private hospitals. There is a high possibility of drug abuse here. She has sought a report after investigating the degrees of the staff at the de-addiction center. She asked the officials of all government agencies to work in coordination with team spirit to control drug abuse in the district.
