Telangana Rising Vision Document Aims for USD 3 Trillion Economy

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has introduced the Telangana Rising vision document, which aims to transform the state into a USD three trillion economy by 2047. This announcement was made during the Telangana Rising Global Summit’s closing ceremony. The event saw participation from notable figures such as NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Berry, industrialist Anand Mahindra, and film star Chiranjeevi.

In line with the state’s forward-thinking approach, a robot presented the vision document to the Chief Minister on stage. Reddy highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working towards a developed India by 2047, targeting a USD 30 trillion economy. Telangana’s vision document aligns with this goal, aiming for the state to contribute 10% to the national GDP.

Focus on Education and Infrastructure

The vision document was crafted with input from economists and the general public, ensuring a comprehensive approach. Reddy cited Mahatma Gandhi’s advice to Jawaharlal Nehru about prioritising the poor in policy decisions. As a result, education and irrigation have been key focus areas for development.

Reddy, who comes from a farming background, emphasised his commitment to eradicating poverty and addressing societal issues like discrimination. He announced initiatives such as Young India Integrated Schools and Young India Skills University, led by Anand Mahindra, aimed at supporting underprivileged communities.

Economic Growth and Innovation

NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Berry noted that Telangana is already at an upper middle-income level, where India aspires to be in five to seven years. He stressed that creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship are crucial for future growth, as traditional development models may not suffice.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair praised Telangana’s economic progress in a video message. He mentioned that the state’s GSDP has nearly tripled over a decade, with per capita income among the highest in India. Blair believes states like Telangana will play a vital role in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.
