World Health Innovation Forum showcased Groundbreaking Developments in Medical Technology
Visakhapatnam: It was ITS (Ignite, Transform, & Sustain) in 3 day World Health Innovation Forum’s 3rd edition gathering at AMTZ (Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone) that marked a significant milestone in advancing global healthcare innovations. This prominent event showcased groundbreaking developments and fostered international collaborations to shape the future of health technology. It brought AMTZ, the biggest medical device park, in the spotlight of the world. AMTZ is being looked at as a prologue to India becoming global hub of medical technology.
A key highlight of the forum was the launch of the Global MedTech Expo 2025, an extensive platform featuring numerous stalls representing cutting-edge medical technology, medtech startups, and innovative healthcare solutions. The opening ceremony commenced with 2000+ attendees and addresses from distinguished speakers like Ms. Louise Agersnap, Head of the World Health Organization’s Innovation Hub in Geneva, Dr. Ravi Ramamurthy, University Distinguished Professor of International Business, and Director, Center for Emerging Markets in Northeastern University, Dr Nico Schittekae, Counselor for Health, Welfare & Sport at Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in India and Dr. Issa, Director, Hopital Albert Royer, Senegal.
Dr. Jitendra Sharma, Managing Director and CEO of AMTZ, welcomed the global MedTech community highlighting AMTZ’s transformation from a remote location to a hub of innovation, and emphasizing its pivotal role in India’s growing MedTech landscape. The forum’s agenda spans three days: igniting ideas and responsibility on Day 1, transforming them into impact through ecosystem support on Day 2, and driving long-term sustainability on Day 3, all with a mandate for collective action towards #HealthEquity. He also noted the 100% fulfillment of last year’s pledges, including equipping 100 hospitals with indigenous devices and scaling hospital technology.
The World Health Innovation Forum 2025 featured several sessions led by experts and industry leaders, covering a wide range of important topics from funding, scaling and trading of healthcare by the International Finance Corporation, to healthcare communications to workshops by WHO collaborating centres and ISPOR and many more.
The World Health Innovation Forum 2025 continues to serve as a catalyst for fostering innovative collaborations that promise to transform healthcare globally. Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ) looks forward to building on the momentum and advancing the agenda for a healthier future. Through the platform WORLD HEALTH INNOVATION FORUM, AMTZ along with Kalam Institute of Health Technology also the WHO collaborating Centre of Health Technology Innovation hosted 6000+ attendees from 70+ countries to promote healthcare innovation, strengthening health systems, and fostering collaboration between governments, industry, academia, and technology leaders.
The Forum brought together experts from across the world to exchange knowledge, showcasing transformative technologies, and catalyzing partnerships that address critical gaps in healthcare accessibility, affordability, and quality.
