Annual CME of Iconic Hospital proved a Milestone Medical Event
New Delhi: 930 bedded iconic Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is fully equipped to take on the mantle of a premier medical college of the order of AIIMS in terms of quality of faculty and research. It is pitching for the new role and may soon become one, given its reputation of being best healthcare model in the country.
This news emerged in the middle of a high impact much awaited and highly anticipated annual CME (Continuing Medical Education) event of the hospital in India habitat centre. Meticulously planned, one day ‘Mahakumbh’ of a CME around theme ‘Sharper Diagnosis Smarter Management’ proved a stellar medical educational achievement with cutting edge insights as takeaways for participants.
Sir Ganga Ram is already famed as nursery for nurturing specialists for all Indian hospitals. Most of the renowned specialists in the country are found to be groomed in SGRH while learning the rope. As a medical college, which seems imminent, this trust hospital will be more in a position to prepare specialists for Indian.
Chief Guest Dr Girish Tyagi former Registrar and Secretary of the Delhi Medical Council and currently President, Delhi Medical Association had all the good words for the hospital. Dr Tyagi said that SGRH having a medical college was long overdue. He added that faculty that Sir Gnaga Ram possesses will not be comparably available anywhere else. As a former official of DMC overseeing quality of medical practice, Dr Tyagi said that, unlike other private hospitals, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital came out as having neither any conviction nor any complaints from patients. Dr Tyagi termed hospital as being both doctor friendly and patient friendly.
Vouching for exemplary ethical practice in the hospital, Dr Ajay Swaroop, Chairman, Board of Management, reiterated that Ganga Ram is only a hospital not a healthcare industry. He called CME a kind of family outreach. Underlining the importance of CME, Dr Swaroop said, ‘Annual CME of SGRH is a much awaited and anticipated medical event among medical fraternity in Delhi NCR. Expressing deep satisfaction over the super success of 15the CME, Dr Swaroop thanked participants for making it a grand success stating that the Annual CME has consistently served as a platform for collaborative learning and professional enrichment. He said the hospital remains committed to fostering continuous medical education by showcasing advancements that directly translate into improved patient outcomes.
Dr D S Rana, Chairman of the Sir Ganga Ram Trust Society gave enough indication that Sir Ganga Ram hospital is ready for the larger role of academics. Dr Rana said, ‘it would be to assert the obvious that SGRH is patient friendly and out and out an ethical hospital.’ He added, ‘we are equated with AIIMS among private hospitals and rightly so. In addition to treatment and ethical practice, medical education and research has been quintessential aspect in Sir Ganga Ram hospital. We have invested heavily in academics and are well equipped for becoming a teaching hospital.’ Dr Rana emphasised the growing importance of knowledge-sharing in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape. Dr. Sanjay Manchanda, Chairman, CME and Sleep Medicine, said that the programme aimed to bring a fresh perspective to clinical learning by combining sharp diagnostic thinking with smarter management approaches. 15th Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on Sunday, 1st February 2026 brought together leading clinicians, surgeons, academicians, and healthcare professionals from across the city to deliberate on evolving medical practices, emerging technologies, and patient-centric clinical decision-making. The CME featured a comprehensive and well-structured scientific programme comprising expert lectures, panel discussions, debates, and interactive sessions across multiple specialities. Key highlights included discussions on the practical application of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, advancements in transplant surgery, emerging weight-loss procedures, and updates on newer techniques and technologies being adopted across various medical specialities. The event also showcased academic updates from GRIPMER (Gangaram Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research) and provided delegates with practical take-home messages relevant to everyday clinical practice.
