Health Minister Veena George said in a statement here that through the app, users can find all details of nearby hospitals, specialty departments and services, laboratory tests as well as the rates of each of the tests and services on offer.

The details of Janakeeya Aarogya Kendrams in an area (formerly known as subcentres), government homoeopathy hospitals, and Karunya pharmacies are also made available.

Ms. George said these facilities, which would find wide use amongst the public, were enabled by the “Nearby Services” option in the MeHEALTH app.

To access these services, users must first install the MeHEALTH mobile app and log in using their phone number and OTP. If the user enters his/her Aadhaar number and generates a unique health ID, he/she can book OP tickets and doctor appointments online through this app itself.

The application will also guide the user to the health-care facility by showing the exact distance as well as the route using integrated Google Maps navigation.

To find nearby hospitals and services, users can click the “Nearby Services” option on the app’s home page. By choosing “Find Institution,” all hospitals located within a 10-km radius as well as the exact distance to these institutions will be available.

The user can also select hospitals by clicking on “Find Specialties”, which will give information on the basis of the Speciality chosen by the user.

In the same manner, information on nearby ambulances, blood banks, laboratories, paywards, and radiology services can be accessed through “Find Services.”

Clicking on “Find JAK” will help the user locate nearby Janakeeya Aarogya Kendrams. Pharmacies or homoeopathy clinics can also be located in the same manner.
