Globally great Gastroenterologists gorge on hot talking points in Delhi

New Delhi: New Techniques and findings have emerged in the fields of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Liver Transplantation. Hot topics like Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Cholestasis, acute Liver Failure, Liver Transplantation, Advanced Endoscopy, Celiac Disease, Pancreatitis, Food allergy and Inflammatory Bowel Disease et al were the food for thoughts among global stalwarts of Gastroenterology in two day conference in Delhi Starting September 6.

The annual conference –hot topics in Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Liver Transplantation, hosted by Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, has emerged as a key platform for doctors from across the world to meet, discuss and debate new techniques and findings in these sub specialities. This year specialists from as many as 18 countries are attending the two-day conference, which was preceded by hands-on Endoscopy workshops.

Starting with the first successful pediatric liver transplant in India in 1998, Apollo Hospitals has been a pioneer in the field of pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition. Apollo hospitals has performed more than 3100 liver transplants of which 302 have been in children, the most in not just in India but the region. This conference will see global experts address important issues in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and liver transplantation. This conference is endorsed by the Indian Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ISPGHAN) and accredited by National Board of Examination (NBE). This conference is a joint initiative with the ‘Academy of Pediatric Gastroenterology’, London, UK.

Important topics to be covered by eminent international and national faculty include- hepatitis B, hepatitis C, cholestasis, acute liver failure, liver transplantation, advanced endoscopy, celiac disease, pancreatitis, food allergy and inflammatory bowel disease.
