Rohtak, Haryana: In a shocking incident, The Central Bureau of Investigation busted the corruption racket and lodged an FIR against the four officials of Central GST Department who were involved in demanding the money.
The complaint was submitted by the agency proprietor, Manoj Kalra, who presented the complained to the CBI, Chandigarh against the four CGST officers Gurvinder Singh Sohal, Superintendent, Kuldeep Hooda, Superintendent, Rohit Malik, Inspector and Pardeep, Inspector who were allegedly involved in demanding bribe money from him. As per the complainant, all the four accused demanded an amount of Rs. 12 lacs of bribe from him but when the complainant showed his inability to give such a huge amount, they all negotiated and reduced the bribe amount to Rs. 9 Lacs.
As per complaint, the accused officers had been allegedly taking bribe by pressuring the agency proprietor that he had shown less stock of raw material on record whereas physically, the stocks of raw material were much more and for that complainant was pressurized to impose penalty for evasion of GST by his agency.
Earlier on Friday, the CBI involved in the case and carried out a raid on the residence of the accused in the night time that continued till today’s afternoon. According to the sources, one of the accused has been arrested.
The CBI also reached the residence of the accused, Kuldeep Hooda, in Sector 1, Rohtak, and carried out search. According to the sources, the CBI has also seized gold, money and essential paperwork from his residence.
All the accused had been booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption and Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code.
