Consignment Of Banned Drug ‘Tecdol-100’ Seized At Srinagar Airport

Srinagar: The Drug Control Department along with airport and sales taxes department on Wednesday seized a consignment containing 190 strips of psychotropic drug at Srinagar International Airport.

Irfana Ahmad, Joint Drugs Controller said they received a tip off that a consignment of drugs had arrived at Srinagar Airport. “Our drug control officer along with the sales tax department and airport authorities seized a courier containing 190 strips of ‘Tapentadol tablets,” she said.

Ahmad added that it is an unregulated drug and has come through an unregulated channel and they are investigating the matter.

“We have also seized one more consignment along with abortion kits and the said consignment is under investigation,” she said while requesting people to take precautions while buying medicine and seek proper bills.” She added that the suspects have not been arrested yet but the investigation is on.
