Demise of Sultan Qaboos, Real Visionary Leader, huge loss – Dr Azad Moopen

Dubai/India: Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman and Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare is deeply saddened by the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Ruler of Sultanate of Oman. The Super Speciality hospital group based in Dubai and India has a large presence in Oman through hospitals and clinics. Dr Moopen knew his leadership qualities and personality from close quarters. He has said Sultan Qaboos transformed the Sultanate’s healthcare and education sectors.

Oman Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said passed away at the age of 79. Sultan Qaboos commanded great respect in India as well which is evidenced by the fact that India has declared state mourning on Monday at his demise.

Expressing his deep sorrow at his death, Dr Moopen, in a press release sent to Medicare News, said, “We are deeply saddened by the sad demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said, Ruler of Sultanate of Oman. A real visionary leader, Sultan Qaboos was responsible for the transformation of Oman into one of the leading countries in the Middle East and a very prominent member of GCC. The longest reigning Arab leader, he was the darling of the masses for 5 decades and lifted the living condition of millions of Omanis. He was not only responsible for modernizing the country but has also transformed the Sultanate’s healthcare and education sectors.  He was also a very astute statesman, respected all over the world.”

Dr Moopen further said, “With a large presence in Oman through hospitals and clinics, we have experienced His Majesty’s support. May God bless his soul and give him a heavenly abode. We hope that the new leadership will continue to foster His Majesty’s vision and take Oman to further progress and prosperity.”

Sultan Qaboos was a globally respected leader. The government has declared one-day state mourning on Monday in view of the demise of the Sultan of Oman, the home ministry announced on Sunday.

“As a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, the government of India has decided that there will be one day’s state mourning on January 13 throughout India.
