Eyes welled up for late Dr K K Aggarwal in Constitution Club

New Delhi: The reminiscence of untimely demise of Padma Shree Dr K K Aggarwal who curedcrores of Covid inflicted patients of far and wide through his round the clock online OPD always trigger sadness. Many eyes welled up on the occasion of launch of Dr K K Aggarwal Swasth Bharat Trust Utkrishta Chitikshak Samman in Constitution Club. It was indeed a cruel twist in the tale that Dr K K himself fell to the deadly virus. His online OPD during COVID made him every household name in India and his death was a national grieving.

Swasth Bharat Trust, an organization working in the field of health advocacy for the last 8 years on last Saturday honoured the doctors of the country on the occasion of National Doctor’s Day.Dr. Uma Kumar, AIIMS became the recipient of 1st Dr. K.K. Agarwal Swasth Bharat Utkrist Chikitsk Samman. It was handed to her by Dr K K Aggarwal’s wife Dr Veena Aggarwal. Dr Uma Kumar is the head of the Department of Rheumatology, AIIMS, New Delhi.

In the second category, those doctors were honoured who have done excellent work in the field ofhealthcare. Under this category Dr. Shailendra Goel, Director of Urology, Robotics and KidneyDepartment of Max, Vaishali and his wife Dental Surgeon Dr. Sonal Goel received ‘Swasth BharatSwasthya Doot Dampati’ Samman.

In the third category, doctors from across the country were honoured who have played a vital role in strengthening India’s health ecosystem and have contributed in increasing health public awareness.Those doctors were also included in this category, who have done excellent work by showing thespirit of service in the covid period. The awards were presented at a grand function organized on the occasion of Doctor’s Day at the Constitution Club of India, Delhi. Dr. RK Tuli, the founder of ‘Soham’, presided over the symposium on Experience of the Covid Era and Medical Practices for the Future, while the keynote address was given by Pad mashree JK Bajaj, Director, Centre for Policy Studies, Chennai. Ravi Dadhich, CEO of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan aushadhi Pariyojana spoke as a special speaker, while famous folk singer Vijaya Bharti spoke on the subject of music and health. Moreover, senior homeopathy practitioner,Dr. AK Gupta spoke on homeopathy, while on the other hand, Dr. Mahesh Vyas, Dean of All India Institute of Medical Sciences delivered a talk on the importance of ayurveda.

Senior health journalist Dhananjay Kumar discussed the concept of the conferred award on therecipients while Dr. KK Agarwal’s wife Dr. Veena Agrawal highlighted his contribution towards health advocacy in India. The organization was introduced by Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Swasth Bharat. The welcome address was given by Dr. Vijay Jolly, a well-known politician and the vote of thanks, by Ashutosh Kumar Singh, chairman of the organization. The program was conducted by senior journalist and editor of Yug varta Sanjeev Kumar.

On this occasion, the novel Kahin Khulat Koi Jharokha based on the lives of retarded and specially challenged individuals was released. The author of this book, Anil Goel is an author and senior journalist. The book was introduced by famous writer, poet, story writer and critic Dr. Pratap Sehgal. Speaking at the event, Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Chairman, Swasth Bharat (Trust) said that the goal of his organization is to make sure that India should be healthy and to achieve this goal, he believes all the streams and domains of medical science should work together for the betterment of human kindand to also serve public interest.The Swasth Bharat (Trust) crew has travelled all over India twice and has tried to understand India’s health ecosystem as well as understand India health culture.
