PBTI, a registered society under Societies Registration Act, is professionally governed by a Governing Council under the Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary of Punjab.

PBTI started providing high-end world-class NABL-accredited analytical services to Agri, Food, Environment, and Allied Sectors from transit premises in Mohali.

In addition, contract research services, technology validation services, and Project Management Consultancy (PMC)/Project Management Advisory (PMA) services are also being provided.

Farmers, entrepreneurs, startups, industries, exporters and regulators, etc. are using these services.

Punjab Biotechnology Incubator (PBTI) invites applications for the following posts through direct recruitment purely on a contractual basis for a period of 5 years extendable as per the requirement of PBTI

Post: Scientist (Analytical / Instrumentation)

Eligibility criteria :  Essential Qualifications : Master Degree in Life Science / Agriculture Science / Chemical Science/ Pharmaceutical Science.

Candidates with Doctorate Degree in the relevant subject would be preferred. Experience: Four years of experience after M.Sc. in R&D / industry in the field of chemical / analytical testing (pesticide/drug residue/toxin etc.).

The candidate with experience working with national/international food testing laboratories and having knowledge of Laboratory Quality Management System (ISO/IEC 17025) and lab accreditation, shall be preferred.

Desirable: Hand-on experience with equipment like HPLC, GC, GC-MS, AAS, etc. Knowledge of testing protocols, national/international standards for quality testing of food, and GLP practices.

Job Description: The incumbent would be responsible for chemical / analytical testing (pesticide/ drug residues/toxin / elemental analysis/chemical / biochemical analysis etc.) of samples as per national/international standards and responsible for maintaining the Technical Management System of the laboratories under Chemical section as per requirements of the accreditation body.

Age: Not exceeding 40 years

Post: Junior Scientific Officer (Chemical)

Pay Level (Initial Pay) : 12 (Rs.43000/-)

Eligibility criteria: Qualification and Experience: Essential: 1st class Master Degree in Basic / Life / Environmental Sciences / Food Sciences OR 1st Class B.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology / Food Technology / Dairy Technology OR 1ST Class B. Pharma from a recognized University/institute with at least 2 years analytical experience in the relevant field after essential qualification.

Desirable: Experience working with national/international testing & certification laboratories /organizations. Knowledge of national/international laboratory quality management systems and standards for quality testing. The candidate qualified as Food Analyst by FSSAI would be given preference.

Job Requirement: The incumbent would be responsible for the analysis of Agri / food & allied products / Environmental monitoring.
Age18-37 years

Post: Scientific Assistant

No. of posts / Category : 02 (Two) 01 (one) Reserved for EX- Servicemen (women) Category & 01 (One) for BC (Women)

Pay Level (Initial Pay): 9 (Rs.35600/-)

Eligibility criteria: Qualification and Experience: Essential: 1st class Master Degree in Basic / Life / Environmental Sciences / Food Sciences OR 1st Class B.Tech or equivalent in Biotechnology / Food Technology / Dairy Technology OR 1st Class B. Pharma from a recognized University/institute.

Desirable: Experience working with national/international testing & certification laboratories /organizations. Knowledge of national/international laboratory quality management systems and standards for quality testing. The candidate qualified as Food Analyst by FSSAI would be given preference.

Job Requirement: The incumbent would be responsible for the analysis of Agri / food & allied products / Environmental monitoring.

Age: 18-37 years

a) The initial pay for the ibid post shall be in accordance with Finance Department guidelines. A fixed amount equal to initial pay without any allowance will be paid during the probation period of 3 years.

b) Candidates having requisite qualifications and experience may submit an application in the prescribed format Proforma-I which is available on the website of PBTI i.e. pbtilabs.com along with the demand draft (Non-refundable) of Rs.500 in favor of Punjab Biotechnology Incubator” payable at Mohali or transferred through NEFT as per details given below:

c) Age Relaxation:

i. For Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes of Punjab age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years as per Punjab Govt. Rules.

ii. Ex-servicemen of Punjab Domicile shall be allowed to deduct the period of their service in the Armed forces of Union from their actual age and if the resultant age does not exceed the maximum age limit prescribed for direct appointment to such a vacancy in the service Rules concerned by more than three years, he shall be deemed to satisfy the condition regarding age limit.

iii. There shall be no age limit for internal candidates d) In-service candidates shall apply through proper channels or submit NOC at the time of the Interview.

f) CGPA conversion to percentage formula of University/institute should be provided alongwith photocopy of DMC/Degree.

g) The appointing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all applications without assigning any reason.
