Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences will set up COVID-19 Special Hospital

Bhubaneswar/ Delhi:  Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has signed an MoU with the Govt. of Odisha to set up a COVID-19 Special Hospital to combat the spread of novel Coronavirus in the state on Thursday.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Bishnu Panigrahi, CEO, KIMS on behalf of KIMS in the presence of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS, Dr. Subrat Acharya, Pro-Chancellor, KIIT Deemed to be University and other Government officials.

This is one-of-its-kind initiative by the Government and KIMS to ensure that the people of Odisha get state-of-the-art infrastructure and the services of best doctors to treat and tackle this pandemic. Dr. Samanta expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister of Odisha Shri Naveen Patnaik for choosing KIMS as a partner for this noble endeavour, and giving it the opportunity to serve the people of Odisha in their time of need.

“The vision of Shri Patnaik in tackling COVID-19 has been proactive and ahead of any other Indian state, and this MoU takes that vision one step further. KIMS will definitely put in all possible effort to justify the Chief Minister’s faith and fulfil his vision, and serve the people of the state in a better and bigger way”, Dr. Samanta said.

“It is true that doctors of KIMS might have to take on additional load, but they are willing to give their all for the welfare of this wonderful state. I hope that this partnership will bear fruit and we can soon have a COVID-19 free Odisha”, he added.
