Narco Syndicate indulged in supply of Contraband NRX medicines dismantled, arrested two key operatives

New Delhi: In an effective and decisive action, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) of the Crime Branch has successfully dismantled a major Narco-syndicate indulged in supply of contraband medicines. This extensive operation led to the arrest of two key operatives and confiscation of high-value contraband.

SANJEEV KUMAR YADAV (IPS), Dy. Commissioner of Police ANTF, Crime Branch Delhi said in a press release that under the ongoing drive against drug traffickers in Delhi, the ANTF team developed intelligence on active drug traffickers. HC Anuj got information about one Manoj R/o Rohtak Haryana and other traffickers based in Delhi, who are indulged in supply of contraband medicines such as Alprazolam, Tramadol etc. HC Anuj developed the information and noticed that the exchange of contraband medicines is being done in the area of Bhagirath Palace Market, Delhi. Acting upon this, an operational team consisting of ASI Mukesh, HCs Anuj, Naveen, Amit and Ct. Harish led by Inspector Vikas Pannu and supervised by ACP/ANTF Sh. Satendra Mohan, swiftly mobilized to intercept them.

On 16.01.2026, acting on credible information, the team apprehended Manoj near dispensary Bhagirath Palace Market, Chandni Chowk, while he was going for supplying the contraband Alprazolam to some unknown customer. During his search 19200 alprazolam tablets weighing 2352 grams classified as a commercial quantity under the NDPS Act were recovered from the polythene bags being carried by him. Accordingly, a case was registered vide FIR No. 13/2026, dated 17.01.2026 u/s 22 (C) NDPS Act at Crime Branch, Delhi and investigation was taken up by SI Amrendra Singh.

During interrogation, Manoj disclosed that he was supplying contraband medicines for the last 3 years. He further disclosed that he used to receive contraband medicines from one salesman namely Ayan but other than his phone number he was not aware about anything else about Ayan. It was also revealed that the phone number was also not issued in the name of Ayan. Further, on the basis of information provided by accused Manoj about Ayan, multiple raids were conducted at his hideouts. The team conducted reconnaissance at his hideouts in Daryaganj by disguising themselves as salespersons. HC Amit wore the attire of a salesperson and gathered information from Daryaganj. HC Naveen and Ct. Harish was deployed in Bhagirath Palace. They turned themselves into Medical representatives and vendors respectively. The incessant and dedicated efforts bore fruits when the accused Ayan was zeroed down and located near JagsonPal Building.

Immediately, a raid was conducted and Ayan was apprehended with the help of staff. On enquiry, his name was revealed as Tauhid Alam @ Ayan s/o Mohd Nooruddin r/o Vill Dhumgarh, PS Thakurganj, Distt Kishanganj, Bihar Age 29 years. He used to purchase the contraband medicine from Sameer (fictitious name). Also, during a search of his rented premises in Pataudi House, Daryaganj, 252 grams (1800 tablets) Alprazolam were recovered.

Manoj Kumar @ Manu s/o Darshan Lal r/o Gandhi Nagar, Rohtak, Haryana Age-44 yrs, has studied upto 12th standard. He started working at one medical store in Rohtak and learned medicine work. Thereafter, he started to work as a salesman and supply the drugs from Delhi to Rohtak. In disguise of this work he started supplying NRX medicines such as Alprazolam, tramadol etc. He was purchasing the same from one Tauhid.

TauhidAlam @ Ayan s/o Mohd Nooruddin r/o Vill-Dhumgarh, PS Thakurganj, Distt Kishanganj, Bihar Age 29 years, is graduate and knows the medicine work. Initially, he worked at a medical store and thereafter, started the salesman work in Bhagirath palace market. He used to purchase generic medicine from the market and sell the same to the salesmen visiting from nearby areas. In addition to the generic medicine, he supplies contraband NRX medicines. He purchases the same from a salesman in Bhagirath Market.

Further investigation is in progress.
