PHYFiCON 2026 being organized for Milestone Celebration of Knowledge, Learning & Excellence on August 23
New Delhi: The mission was to equip doctors with updated medical knowledge for healthy India. With this end in view, The Physicians Forum of India is all set to script a landmark and bat a 1000 both metaphorically and numerically. The CME started under its aegis is poised to reach its 1000th making it a milestone as never before.
The Physicians Forum of India (PFI), one of the National Capital’s most vibrant and enduring medical fraternities, is all set to script a rare chapter in the history of medical education in the country. On Sunday, 23rd August 2026, the Forum will host PHYFiCon 2026, a grand conference marking its 1000th continuous Wednesday Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme — an unbroken academic tradition of weekly scientific learning sustained over nearly two decades.
Themed as “A Milestone Celebration of Knowledge, Learning and Excellence,” PHYFiCon 2026 is expected to draw a distinguished gathering of physicians, specialists and academicians from across the region.Being held association with the Healthy Heart Society, the milestone conference will be convened at Hotel Grand Dreams, Okhla (NSIC Metro Station), New Delhi. Registration opens at 2:00 PM, with the scientific sessions commencing at 3:00 PM.
Reaching 1000 consecutive Wednesday CMEs is an extraordinary distinction for any medical body in India. What began as a modest weekly academic meeting has today grown into a movement of more than 100 South Delhi physician members, spanning every major medical speciality. Every session is recorded and published on the Forum’s dedicated YouTube channel, with links shared across Facebook and Instagram — carrying high-quality medical education far beyond the lecture hall to doctors and students nationwide. For a generation of young physicians, these weekly gatherings have become a trusted platform to update their knowledge, engage with senior clinicians and stay abreast of rapidly evolving evidence and technology.
The 1000th edition offers a rich, contemporary scientific agenda that captures the direction of modern medicine. The programme opens with Advances in Cardiac Pacing and Interventional Cardiology 2026 by Dr Viveka Kumar, followed by a forward-looking talk on The Physician of the Future: How AI-Powered, Physician-Led Continuity Care Can Expand Impact Beyond the Clinic by Dr Rahul Chandola. Reflecting the growing role of technology in patient care, Dr Rajneesh Malhotra will address The Future of Wound Care: From Visual Assessment to AI-Guided Precision Healing.
The academic feast will continue with Dr Vineet Malhotra on minimally invasive prostate procedures, Dr Arun Prasad on the changing scenario of obesity management in India, and Dr Saptarshi Bhattacharya on calcium supplementation. Oncology, hypertension, nephrology and geriatrics feature prominently through talks by Dr Amish Vora on antibody drug conjugates in cancer therapy, Dr Amitabh Yaduvanshi on optimising resistant hypertension care and the role of renal denervation, Dr Sanjeev Gulati on managing type-2 diabetes with chronic kidney disease, and Dr G S Grewal on elderly care.
The evening will conclude with a Felicitation of Eminent Faculty and Members — honouring the doctors and mentors whose commitment has sustained this academic tradition for a thousand weeks — followed by a musical programme and dinner.
Speaking ahead of the event, the organisers noted that the 1000th CME is not merely a number but a testament to the discipline, collegiality and scientific curiosity of the Delhi medical community. “Every Wednesday for a thousand weeks, physicians have gathered to learn, question and share. That is the true spirit of medicine,” the Forum said. Event co-sponsor and Healthy Heart Society Founder Dr Viveka Kumar will grace the occasion, underlining the collaborative ethos that has powered the Forum’s remarkable growth.
