The way this national conclave was publicized was unheard of and quite unusual for modern medicine practitioners to even think of. The fact that we know so far is that modern medicine practitioners do not advocate anything like that. The surprising fact about this national convention was that Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), the organization of modern medicine hospitals also partnered with this.
Dr V.K Paul, member of Niti Aayog and architect of Ayushman Bharat was keynote speaker. Dr R.V Ashokan, national president of IMA, the largest organization of allopathy doctors also became witness to this change of heart in allopathy. Dr Alexander Thomas, President of AHPI, who played main role in organizing this conclave, has edited a book called ‘Lifestyle Medicine’. It certainly points to new emerging strategies for the treatment of chronic diseases which are emasculating masses in their productive age in India.
Disruption is the zeitgeist of new age we are in and whatever is well entrenched for ages is being challenged. The domain of medicine is also not off limit.
