Stay On MR Vaccination demanded by MLA Praniti Shinde

It has alleged that a nine-year-old boy from Solapur lost his life after the MR vaccination was administered and Praniti Shinde, Member of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Solapur demanded a stay on the ongoing measles and rubella drive. On 10th, December, Iv class student Rushikesh Dombale of Aherwadi Zilla Parishad School lost his life after the vaccination on the same day when the drive was conducted in the school premises.

Praniti Shinde point to get stay is on the behalf that apart from this death, 52 other students from Solapur district have been admitted to the hospital due to the vaccine. That’s why she actively asked for a stay on the vaccination drive. She said, drive will be continued only after the complete research on the medication. They should stop drive until, they become sure that no side-effects arising from the vaccine.

She also demanded for the compensation for the kid who lost his life and letter written by her was submitted to the collector of Solapur district, where Shinde added that the authorities should be informed about the same and decision regarding stay on vaccination should be taken.

Praniti also seeking the reason for the continuity of the drive even after this incident as drive is running throughout the state. No hospital authority notified regarding the side-effects and the nurses who are administering the vaccine are trained or not. The vaccination targeted 9-15 years old children, so the nurses must be “specially trained”, she added.

However, collector of Solapur, Rajendra Bhosale shared that they found out that vaccine is not the root cause of his death occurrence as the child was already had malaria and that caused the death. He also verified that the vaccination is already tested and tried in other 28 states.

Rajendra Bhosale said that a stay it in entire state is not possible as kids who are suffering the ailments, would be asked to take precautions.
