A Special 15-Day Drive To Curb Drug Abuse In Bikaner Division

Bikaner:  To save the youth from falling into the clutches of drugs, a special campaign will be run in the district for the next 15 days with the cooperation of various departments. Divisional Commissioner Vandana Singhvi gave this information in a meeting held on Monday. Singhvi said that saving the young generation from getting caught in the clutches of drugs is the top priority of the administration. Coordinated efforts will be made by making a comprehensive strategy regarding this.

She said that the police, medical and health department, social justice and empowerment, municipal corporation, education department and other related departments will have to make serious efforts in this direction. District Collector Namrata Vrishni said that during this special campaign, special focus will be given on investigation, seizure and awareness activities.

She directed the concerned departments to take action in coordination. Superintendent of Police Kavendra Singh Sagar said that regular action is being taken by the police to curb the drug business. There is a special focus on reaching the source of drug supply. Additional coordination will be done with other departments during the campaign.

Singhvi said that during the campaign, special focus will be given on drug stores and intensive investigation will be done on the stock and sale of drugs.

For this, she directed the CMHO and the Drug Control Department to check the stock and sale of drugs of wholesalers and retailers and submit a report. She said that this report should be prepared by matching the list of drugs used for intoxication, the stock and sale of these drugs by wholesalers and retailers.

The Divisional Commissioner said that this is a serious matter and action will be taken on it sensitively. Along with cities and towns, shops in rural areas will also be focused on. She said that both the departments should take the help of the police if needed. If any retailer is found selling a particular drug in large quantities, then investigate and take action. If strict action is not taken, the future of the coming generation can be dark.
