BSF Recovered 2500 Bottles Of Contraband Phensydyl Worth Rs. 8 Lakh Approx

South Dinajpur : Border Out Post (BOP) of BSF’s 26th Battalion Navagram under Raiganj Sector of North Bengal Frontier posted on the India-Bangladesh border has apprehended an Indian national with a large quantity of banned cough syrup.

The name of the arrested Indian citizen is Arjun Rai (40). He is a resident of Kumarganj police station in South Dinajpur district. BSF has given information about this by issuing a press release on Thursday.

According to the information received, Arjun Rai was apprehended when he was moving suspiciously in a Maruti Omni van in the border area with the intention of smuggling banned cough syrup from India to Bangladesh.

When the arrested person’s Maruti van was searched, 2500 bottles of banned cough syrup were recovered from it. The apprehended Indian citizen has been handed over to Kumarganj police station along with the seized goods for further action.
