Ensure Regular Check-Up Of De-Addiction And Psychiatric Centres: Sri Ganganagar Collector

Sri Ganganagar:  The meeting of the District Level Standing Committee of Narco Coordination Center system was held on Wednesday in the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Manju. During this, the District Collector said that the de-addiction and psychiatry centers operating in the district should be inspected and if any irregularity is found, action should be taken as per the rules.

In the meeting, the District Collector said that the available arrangements and records should be checked regularly inspecting the de-addiction centers and psychiatry centers. The degree of the staff working should also be checked. The Drug Control Department should ensure 100% availability of CCTV cameras while conducting surprise inspections of pharma agencies as well as medical stores. The availability of pharmacists should be checked from their recordings and if any irregularity is found, action should be taken against the concerned as per the rules.

The District Collector said that proper monitoring should also be kept on the medicines coming from outside. While giving instructions to follow up the patients coming to the de-addiction centers and the de-addiction ward of the district hospital, she said that the record of the medicine and counseling given to the patients should also be maintained. Directing the Drugs Department to operate medical stores at required places in the district, she said that medical stores should not be operated where there is no need.

To prevent drone activities and drug smuggling through them in the border areas, regular monitoring should be done by all agencies including police, BSF. While giving instructions to take strict action on drug smuggling to prevent drug abuse in the district, the District Collector said that the police and BSF should remain vigilant and do regular monitoring.

She said that everyone together will make the general public aware about de-addiction through the ‘Nasha Mukt Ganganagar’ campaign, only then meaningful results can be achieved. A joint team of Police, Health, Drug Control and Social Justice and Empowerment Department should conduct surprise inspections of medical stores, de-addiction centers and psychiatric centers and action should be taken against them as per rules if any irregularity is found. De-addiction posters and QR code stickers for taking oath as well as police helpline numbers should be pasted at all medical stores so that the police can get information about those selling drugs.

District Superintendent of Police Mr. Gaurav Yadav said that on receiving information about drug smuggling or suspicious activities in the border area, BSF, police should be informed so that strict action can be taken against them. To stop drug smuggling, all agencies including police, BSF should work in mutual coordination. Expressing the need for public awareness for de-addiction, he said that if everyone cooperates together, drug-related activities can be stopped. There was also a discussion on setting up new police stations, CCTV cameras, increasing the activity of beat constables for the security of Bharat Mala road in the international border area.

On this occasion, ADM Vigilance Mr. Narendra Pal Singh, Trainee IAS Mr. Rajat Yadav, District Excise Officer Mrs. Shiva Chaudhary, Dr. Gunjan Khunger, Mr. Vikram Singh, Mrs. Amrita Songara, Mr. Sunny Pratap Tripathi, Mr. Amarjit Singh Lahar and others were present.
