FDCA Raids Surat Firms Selling Fake Skin Products

Ahmedabad: Gujarat FDCA, in its third raid on fake allopathic drugs and cosmetics in the state in the last two months, busted three firms, all linked, in Surat for selling counterfeit skin creams by misbranding them as having been manufactured by a major pharmaceutical company. They were found selling these fake products on Amazon.

A total of 14 samples were taken and sent for analysis during the investigation. Further investigations have been started by confiscating the valuables worth more than Rs 30 lakh from the three firms.

On the basis of a complaint and bill of sale from the online marketplace that DEMELAN Cream 50 gm drug was being sold on Amazon by a firm in Surat, the FDCA raided Ayushi Enterprises, RJ Enterprise and Cairo Biotech and arrested their owners.
