Hyderabad rising in biotech, pharma, medtech innovation: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad:  Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said Hyderabad was India’s emerging hub of biotech, pharma, and medical technology innovation, with the ambition to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034. He assured total support on behalf of the State government for innovation in medical products.

Speaking at the Biodesign Innovation Summit at AIG Hospital on Sunday, the Chief Minister said Hyderabad had moved from manufacturing to innovation, driven by strong academic institutions, skill development, and industry partnerships. Assuring total government support for indigenous medical innovation to solve the nation’s medical needs, he offered access to historical medical data for innovators and researchers, while maintaining strict privacy safeguards.

“For years, our best minds have been solving problems in other countries. Now, the time has come to use our intelligence to help our own people,” he said, emphasising MedTech’s critical role in healthcare transformation.

Revanth Reddy said the Medical Devices Park at Sultanpur was India’s largest, housing over 60 global and domestic companies with infrastructure for research, testing, and manufacturing. Telangana’s ecosystem of startups, MSMEs, and global corporations makes Hyderabad a vibrant destination for Life Sciences, he added.
