Landmark Industry-Academia Meet in AMTZ
Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh MedTech Zone (AMTZ), India’s leading MedTech ecosystem, hosted a landmark Industry–Academia Meet to commemorate eight transformative years of the Innovation and Biomedical Skill Centre (IBSC),
Over the past eight years, IBSC has trained and certified more than 10,000 candidates, strengthening India’s biomedical and medical device workforce. The centre currently offers over 65 skill training programmes tailored for students, faculty members, working professionals and medical device manufacturers.
IBSC’s programmes are accredited by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India, reinforcing its national-level recognition and quality standards.
“Universities create domain experts, and we integrate them into medical technology, because without academia, there is no MedTech revolution. As healthcare challenges endure, so will the demand for skilled biomedical professionals in this ever-evolving field.” – said MD & Founder CEO, Jitendra Sharma.
Demonstrating its growing academic outreach, IBSC has established partnerships with more than 133 universities and institutions across the country. On February 16, the centre signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 72 institutions to further expand academic collaboration.
These MoUs aim to facilitate industrial training, industry-oriented courses, industrial visits, faculty development programmes, full-semester exchange programmes, joint degree initiatives, as well as joint workshops and conferences creating a structured bridge between academia and the medical technology industry.
