Nationwide Free Helpline to fight COVID 19 launched on PM’s Appeal

New Delhi: Amidst of the Nationwide lockdown a team of doctors of different hospitals have come together & joined hands to support the people facing healthcare emergency. They have launched a nationwide helpline where people can connect with these doctors over email, call, what’s app or video calls.

Starting from the day one of the lockdown these doctors are selflessly helping those who are in need of guidance. Till now these doctors have received a lot of queries from India as well as abroad & now they are trying to help each & every individual.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.  Older people and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

Public health expert, Dr.Shubhank Singh has taken the initiative and later on many eminent doctors came forward & joined their hands to support the cause. He said “our team is constantly working for an awareness drive where they all visit different places in order to make people aware about the do’s & don’ts during the pandemic. He also said that the best way to prevent and slow down transmission of COVID 19 is to be well informed about the virus, the disease it causes and how it is spreading. It is very important to protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol based Sanitizers frequently and not touching your face.”

Commenting on the initiative Dr. Neelam Mohan, Pediatric Gastroenterologist & hepatologist, Medanta – The Medicity who’s the senior member of the team, said “The virus spreads through droplet infection, close contact and recently we are understanding that it is spreading through micro droplet infection i.e. when you cough, sneeze or talk loudly these drops stay in the air for some time and can give rise to infection, as suggested by WHO that there is a high probability of this virus spreads as airborne infection which we were not thinking earlier. In addition I would like to say that even a symptomatic can transmit this infection therefore comes the role of social distancing both outside and as much as possible within the house. It is the most effective way to stop or slow the spread of infectious diseases. It means less contact between you and other people”.

Dr Singh also mentioned that “we are thankful that Honourable Prime Minister initiated “Swasthya Bharat and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan” where millions of people have toilets in their own house and hand washing facilities which is helpful in saving millions of lives in India during this pandemic situation.”

The team is 24*7 available to help & fight the novel corona virus because together we can fight & eliminate the disease from our country & make India Corona free.
