Police And DST Seized Drugs Worth Rs 1.5 Crore In Raid, One Arrested

Udaipur: Hiran magri Police Station and DST (District Special Team), in a joint action, have seized a cache of banned illegal drugs worth Rs 1.5 Crore. Police seized these medicines while raiding a medical shop, warehouse and a flat. An accused has also been arrested during this raid.

Hiran magri police station officer Darshan Singh said that head constable Vikram Singh and constable Upendra Singh Bhati had received information that illegal drug trade was going on for a long time. On information, Hiran Magri police station and DST team, along with the drug inspector Kuldeep Singh Yaduvanshi and Mrs Neha Bansal, took joint action and raided the medical store at Umrada and the warehouse and flat at Parkhet.

He said that during the raid, 57377 bottles of Codeine Cough Syrup and 26028 tablets of illegal banned drugs were seized. The value of the seized medicines has been estimated at Rs 1.5 crore. Besides this, ganja has also been recovered. The police station officer said that such a large number of medicines were kept without license. Police have arrested the accused Kamlesh Dangi, son of Premaram Patel, resident of Som Kheda in this case, while the shop owner is said to be absconding. The police officer said that the police are investigating this entire matter.
